Montgomery County is Maryland's most populous county (pop. 1.06 million; county seat Rockville) and one of the wealthiest in the US. The MCAtlas_Property_Points FeatureServer on mcmaps.org (mcmaps.org/server11) is the county's ArcGIS Server backing the MCAtlas web viewer; it exposes 97 fields as point geometry. Live query confirmed 351,703 parcels. Owner-name search uses UPPER() LIKE on OWNERS_NAME. Key fields: TAX_NO (Maryland 8-digit tax account number), OWNERS_NAME, OWNERS_NAME2, OWNERS_ADDR1/ADDR2/ADDR3, OWNERS_CITY/STATE/ZIP (full mailing address), PREMISE_ADDR_HOUSENO/STREET/STREET_TYPE/CITY/ZIP (situs address components), LAND_ASSMT, IMPROV_ASSMT, LEGAL_DESC, TRANSFER_DATE, SALES_PRICE, YEAR_BUILT, LANDUSE_CODE. The county uses Maryland SDAT (State Department of Assessments and Taxation) as the authoritative property record; mcmaps.org mirrors a subset of that data. Note: property points are centroid-located, not parcel polygons. For polygon geometry, Maryland's statewide parcel boundary layer is at geodata.md.gov/imap/rest/services/PlanningCadastre/MD_ParcelBoundaries/MapServer but does not expose owner data directly.

Montgomery County's Property Points layer exposes owner names (Owner Name, Owner Name 2, Owner Mailing Address, Owner Mailing City) and address fields (Site House Number, Site Street Name, Site City). Use it for owner-name lookups and address-based parcel searches. All 8 listed fields accept queries. Served as an ArcGIS FeatureServer layer, so edits and applyEdits operations are technically exposed (read access only is published here); last verified 2026-06-05.
/query?where=…&outFields=*&f=jsonto the URL. The sample query above is a working example you can paste into a browser tab to see the raw JSON response.Counties publish parcel data through their own ArcGIS Server installations, each with its own schema. One county uses APN, another uses PIN, a third uses PARCEL_ID. Some expose owner names; others keep them on a separate assessor's portal. The searchable fields list above reflects what Montgomery County actually publishes — not what you might expect from a national standard (there isn't one).
For background, see What is an APN?
Many county servers allow public reads but block browser cross-origin requests. The UrbanKit parcel lookup tool fetches directly from your browser; if it works there, the layer is technically public. For your own integration, you may need a same-origin proxy or server-side fetch.
Possibly — counties move services without warning. We re-verify entries weekly and flag stale ones. If you're seeing a fresh 404, please let us know and we'll update the listing.
Most are. Public ArcGIS layers don't typically rate-limit individual reads, but heavy programmatic use can trigger throttling at the host level. Be respectful — query what you need.
