Some counties leave the owner column out of their public parcel service, and a few restrict it by law (New Jersey's Daniel's Law is the best-known example). When that is the case, this page says so and points you at the lawful source instead of guessing. The parcel record itself, the APN, the boundaries, the site address, is usually still public, and the lookup links you to it.
Yes. Property ownership in the United States is a public record maintained by county governments, and this tool reads only what each county publishes on its own public server. Where a county has chosen or is required to withhold owner names, this page honors that instead of working around it.
The atlas indexes 170 counties across 50 states and grows continuously. If your county isn't in it yet, the County Assessor's website is the authoritative place to look, usually under a "property search" or "parcel search" heading.
