Every county REST endpoint in the atlas is probed automatically each day. When one goes degraded or down, it shows here and is flagged in the API — we don't serve broken data silently. Read the Data Availability Commitment →

Monitoring is initializing.

The first automated check runs daily at 08:00 UTC. Until then, endpoint metadata is reviewed manually at each atlas update. The atlas currently tracks 134 counties across 43 states.

About UrbanKit Studio

UrbanKit Studio was built by a planner who got tired of the clunky, expensive workflows involved in generating public notice mailing lists. What should take minutes—buffering parcels, pulling owner addresses, deduplicating, and printing labels—often takes hours using legacy GIS tools or expensive subscription software.

Our mission is to make essential planning tools accessible to everyone: small municipalities that can't afford enterprise GIS, solo practitioners handling their first variance application, and community members who want to participate in the planning process. Every tool is free, runs entirely in the browser, and requires no account or personal information.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is public notice radius notification?: Most cities and counties require that property owners within a certain distance of a proposed development be notified of upcoming public hearings. Typical distances range from 200 to 500 feet, though requirements vary by jurisdiction and project type (variances, CUPs, rezonings, subdivisions).
Where do I get parcel GeoJSON data?: Check your county assessor or GIS department—many offer free parcel downloads through open data portals. State GIS clearinghouses and services like Regrid.com also provide parcel data. If you have a Shapefile, convert to GeoJSON using mapshaper.org or QGIS.
What are Avery 5160 labels?: Avery 5160 is the most popular mailing label format in the US. Each 8.5" × 11" sheet contains 30 labels (1" × 2⅝" each) arranged in a 3×10 grid. They work with both inkjet and laser printers and are sold at office supply stores, Amazon, and Avery's website.
Is my data secure?: Yes. All processing happens entirely in your browser. Your CSV files, GeoJSON data, and generated PDFs never leave your computer. We don't store, transmit, or have access to any of your data.
How does the Parcel Lookup tool work?: Paste any ArcGIS REST Feature Layer URL from your county's GIS portal. The tool loads the layer's metadata to discover available fields, then lets you search by any field (APN, address, owner name). Results show all parcel attributes with one-click copy. It works with any county or municipality that publishes an ArcGIS REST service.
