A zoning case is a request to change a property's zoning (its allowed use, height, or density) or to amend an adopted neighborhood plan. Each one runs through staff review, public notice, and hearings before a planning commission and city council. The cities here publish that docket as open data; this tool reads it directly so you can find the cases on a given street and follow where they stand.

It's a monitoring tool: open it again as a project moves, or check a block before you buy, build, or testify. Commercial zoning-watch services charge a monthly fee for the same public records.

Not every city publishes the same data. Some, like Austin, release the full case docket. Others, like Dallas, publish the current zoning map but not an address-level case log, so that page tells you what a property is zoned today rather than what has been filed. Each city card is labeled for what it can show.
